Christmas with “The Twins”.
Last weekend we were able to spend the weekend with our “almost teenage” twin granddaughters - Amber & Haley. We had the best time! We left Eau Claire saturday morning in a snow storm and picked them up in Madison Lake, MN. This was the first snow storm of the season that ended with about 7 inches of snow. We got to our hotel in minneapolis about 3pm. Minneapolis has a very extensive “skyway” system of enclosed walkways one floor above ground that covers most of the downtown area of Minneapolis. During the snow storm we were able to go all over the city center with no coats! We went to Macys (Daytons for us older folks) to see the Nutcracker display - it was awesome. We walked thru lots of stores and ended up in the Hardrock Cafe for dinner. After dinner we watched the Hallidazle parade on the Nicollet Mall from the warmth of the skyway. What a wonderful night. When we got back to the hotel the Twins went for a swim in the pool. Afterwards we watched movies in the hotel room.
Sunday was Vikings football! We went to the KFAN tent where the twins got their picture taken with Mark Rosen (a popular sportscaster on WCCO TV) and got their faces painted. Inside the Metrodome Haley took a TON of pictures. I will post them soon on our Photobucket site. The twins got to see their first Vikings game and we all had a great time. They have grown up so much in the few months since we last saw them. They are really awesome girls that are a tribute to the job that Staci and Tim have done. We enjoy every minute that we are able to spend together.
